The Sunflower Mini Session is back! Please join us on Saturday, September 10th at the Sunflower Farm outside of Lawrence, KS for a Sunflower Mini. The mini sessions are $69 and will be approximately 20 minutes, and are for children only, please. I had the esteemed pleasure to photograph three phenomenal women that were honored in the 2011 A Celebration of Women Commemorative Journal, published by The Women’s Foundation of Greater Kansas City. The Women’s Foundation raises, invests and grants funds to promote equity and opportunity for women and girls.

Kathy Bussing is an inspiration to me. She gives back to her community in many ways to many organizations. She and her husband, Gary, were awarded the 2011 Light of Hope, at the annual Light of Hope event on April 14, 2011. This was a record-breaking event for Jackson County CASA, with more than 1,070 guests in attendance.

Emibel Bruning is also an inspiration. She is an amazing woman who is full of knowledge, humor and life. Such a pleasure to be around; her smile is infectious.

And, last but certainly not least, is my Mother-in-law, Mary Bruning. I must say that I am a very lucky girl to have a MIL like Mary. She is kind, compassionate and sweet. And, the little guy in the picture with her thinks very highly of her as well. We are very lucky to have her in our lives.

Congratulations to these women for being strong, inspiring women. I am honored to call you all family.
